Missing Egyptian Blogger Detained in State Security Headquarters
Egyptian blogger Mohamed Adel has been missing for five days - five days in which nobody heard from him or knew of his whereabouts. Now, the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI) says that the blogger, who runs the blog Meit [Ar], which translates to Already Dead in English, is being held at the State Security headquarters in Cairo, also known as “Lazogli”, where torture has been practiced on the infamous fourth floor.
Egypt: one blogger disappeared and another still in custody despite court order
Blogger Mohammad Adel who runs the blog Maeit (already dead!) disappeared since Friday, November 21, 2008. As reported by Wael Abbas on Twitter, Adel was supposedly going to meet with an American journalist for an interview, but the he did not show up. Blogger Mohamed Khairi is still in custody despite he received a release warrant few days ago. The Egyptian blogger who writes on “Jarr Shakal” blog (teasing) has been arrested at the dawn of the 17th of this November from his house in Fayoum governate in Nile Delta.
An Egyptian internet writer and blogger still detained and his family is threatened to be killed
The mother and two sisters of the Egyptian blogger and Internet writer Reda Abdul Rahman were threaten to be killed, when they tried to ask state security agents about the whereabouts of Abdul Rahman, who was kidnapped last month by State Security Investigation.
